The world’s #1 combination, Werth and Weihegold OLD, a 12-year-old Oldenburg mare, scored 83.171 percent and is ranked first in the Aachen CDIO5* thus far in the competition. Werth was pleased with her ride and said small errors had been down to her.

“She was absolutely focused,” Werth said. “This is how it can continue!”

Close behind Werth in third place was German teammate Rothenberger and Cosmo 59, a 10-year-old KWPN gelding, earned a score of 78.757 percent.

Adrienne Lyle was the first American to head down the centerline and she earned a 71.814 percent on Salvino, a 10-year-old Hanoverian stallion. The pair finished in 13th place at the end of the Grand Prix. Kasey Perry-Glass was next, and she scored a 68.929 percent on Goerklintgaards Dublet, 14-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding. Olivia LaGoy-Weltz and Lonoir, a 13-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding, scored 71.514 percent and finished in 14th place.

Laura Graves was the last rider in the Grand Prix, and she rode her 15-year-old KWPN gelding, Verdades to a score of 79.514 percent. The duo, unfortunately, had mistakes in the two-tempi changes.

“We will try again in the Grand Prix Spécial! Mistakes simply happen. That is part of the sport,” Graves explained.
