Spanish Federation Announces Team for Rio Olympics

July 18, 2016 – The Spanish Equestrian Federation has announced the four horse and rider combinations and one reserve combination who will comprise the Spanish team for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

Olympic hopefuls had their last opportunity to earn top scores at Spain’s final Olympic observation trial at the CDIO in Aachen, Germany, over the weekend.

The 2016 Spanish Olympic team is as follows:

Beatriz Ferrer-Salat and Delgado, a 15-year-old Westphalian gelding owned by Deliber S.L.

Severo Jurado Lopez and Lorenzo, a 10-year-old Rheinlander gelding owned by Severo Jurado Lopez

Jose Daniel Martin Dockx and Grandioso, a 17-year-old PRE stallion owned by Jose Daniel Martin Dockx

Claudio Castilla Ruiz and Alcaide, an 11-year-old Lusitano stallion owned by Claudio Castilla Ruiz and Yeguada la Perla

The reserve is Borja Carrascosa Martinez and Wonder, a 14-year-old Hanoverian mare owned by 21st Century Horse S.L.
