Dressage at Devon Open Breed Show Wraps Up Before Performance Competition Begins Thursday

Devon, PA. – Sept. 28, 2018 – The third day at Dressage at Devon saw the conclusion of the breed show before performance competitors take to the ring in the remaining days.

Summersby II

Taking home multiple tricolor ribbons was Summersby II (Sezuan–Sandro Hit), bred by Nicole Wanning in Germany and owned by Grand Prix rider, Alice Tarjan. The striking mare is a 17.3, 3-year-old Oldenburg mare. She won the Filly Championship, took home the blue in the 3-year-old Dressage at Devon Prospect Champion, won the Dressage at Devon Grand Championship and the USDF DSHB Mare Final with a score of 80.925. She was in the winner’s circle again, placing first in the USDFBC Three Year Old Materiale Championship with a score of 9.125. Tarjan is known for her ability to spot a new prospect and bring it along to top levels. She is a lawyer who works with her husband in their trucking and rigging business as well as in real estate.

Dhanube

Winning the high score Born in the USA award with an 8.435 was Dhanube (Destano–SP Lhorna Doone, Londonderry). Owned and bred by Maureen Swanson, a breeder from Slatington, PA,  the 16.2, chestnut mare, was also Dressage at Devon Reserve Champion Mature Horse, winner of 4-year-old and older Maiden Mares, 4-year-old and older mares under saddle, GOV class, and Mare Champion. She is the fifth generation from Swanson’s breeding program and descends from her first Hanoverian riding mare.

Noah ISF (Contango- Carabas), a 12.3 bay colt bred by Iron Spring Farm and owned by Mary Alice Malone, claimed the overall Foal Championship and won the USDFBC Current Year Foal Final.

The USDF DSHB Stallion Final was won by Lionel, a 17.1 bay Danish Warmblood gelding, owned by Cara Kettenbach and bred by Oak Hill Ranch (North Andover, MA).

The USDFBC Filly Final was won by Savannah HTF (Sternlicht Hilltop-Em Raj Mahal HTF, Royal Price) with a score of 78.438. This 2-year-old Hanoverian was bred by Hilltop Farm (Colera, MD).

The Stallion Championship was won by Bingotti (Hilltop Bugatti–Wolkenfee, Krack C), an 8-year-old chestnut Hanovarian bred and owned by Kathleen and Don Swalwell of Manchester, MI.
